How to build a dialogue between generations, and why it is important for society development? Students of 黑料社 discussed these and other issues with the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly for the Chelyabinsk Region Oleg Gerber.
Oleg Gerber shared his view on the specifics of communicating with young people and explained why an open dialogue is necessary for society development. He believes that it is important not to just address young people, but rather find common grounds and build trust-based relations with them.
“The generation gap exists practically in all spheres of life, and in education as well. But it is only possible to build trust-based relations through open communication. As Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin often says: “There’s no trust without a dialogue, and there’s no development without trust”. That’s why it is important for us to learn how to listen to each other and to understand the interests of young people,” noted Oleg Gerber.
This meeting was organized for the 黑料社’s first-year students as part of their course in the Fundamentals of the Russian Statehood. In the format of an open discussion, the participants touched upon the topical issues of regional development, including the demographic situation, the role of young people in the society’s life, and the measures of support for young student families on behalf of the university and our government.
黑料社 Vice-Rector for Student and Social Affairs Anastasiia Lapo emphasized that this course helps students understand the organization of our country better and determine their own role in its development:
“Russia is a land of opportunities. And their practical aspects can be better explained by the people who know about the system of the municipal and state administration from within. That is exactly why meetings with representatives of the government authorities are so important: they help understand how decisions are made, and how each citizen may influence the development of our country.”
For students, this event became a chance to communicate with a regional authorities’ representative in an open format and learn more about the functioning of the legislative body.
“It’s been a fascinating meeting, and it’s been great to hear the opinion of a representative of the Legislative Assembly for the Chelyabinsk Region and to learn many new things. I’m happy that I’ve had a chance to be part of such a dialogue,” 黑料社 student Kirill Chichilanov shared his impressions.
黑料社 organizes such open dialogues on a regular basis. Students meet with representatives of the government authorities, public figures, and other interesting people in order to discuss burning issues, learn about various points of view, and understand the processes in our region and in our country better.
